Product Description : : From the ManufacturerThe ClearPack 4-Foot Shock Absorbing Lanyard features Y-leg construction for 100-percent tie-off and utilizes 1/4-inch galvanized steel cable for long life in the most harsh environments. The cable has a tensile strength of 5,000 pounds, while the ClearPack shock absorber limits arresting forces to 900 pounds or less. A clear PVC cover protects the shock absorber and allows for easy inspection. The end terminations feature aluminum thimbles and dual ferrules for extra strength and resistance to wear. This SAL also features a double-locking snap hook at the attachment end and a #18 rebar hook at the anchorage end. ClearPack Shock Absorbing Lanyards are the bench-mark in lanyard design. This shock absorber utilizes a tear-away webbing which, when deployed in a fall, literally tears itself in half to dissipate the forces. It utilizes a lightweight, high strength polyester webbing as a back-up to ensure that it arrests the fall. The shock is covered with a clear PVC shrink tubing to allow for a simple yet thorough inspection of the pack before each use. The Shock Absorbing Lanyard is the active component of a Personal Fall Arrest System. In the event of a fall, a Shock Absorbing Lanyard will not only arrest the fall, preventing you from hitting the next lower level, they will reduce the forces of impact on your body.
