Product Description : : From the ManufacturerThis ClearPack 4-Foot Shock Absorbing Lanyard features twin shock hooks to provide an extra measure of protection in the event of a fall while both legs are tied off. This lanyard uses a Y-leg construction for 100-percent tie-off, with a 1-inch polyester webbing for resistance to UV light and abrasion and a tensile strength of 9,800 pounds. This 4-foot lanyard is equipped with double-locking snap hooks at the attachment and anchorage ends, as well as a clear PVC cover that protects the shock absorber and allows for easy inspection. ClearPack Shock Absorbing Lanyards are the bench-mark in lanyard design. This shock absorber utilizes a tear-away webbing which, when deployed in a fall, literally tears itself in half to dissipate the forces. It utilizes a lightweight, high strength polyester webbing as a back-up to ensure that it arrests the fall. The shock is covered with a clear PVC shrink tubing to allow for a simple yet thorough inspection of the pack before each use. The Shock Absorbing Lanyard is the active component of a Personal Fall Arrest System. Shock Absorbing Lanyards are part of a category of goods referred to as Connecting Devices, which are intended to connect the back D-ring of you Full Body Harness to the anchorage at your work position. In the event of a fall, a Shock Absorbing Lanyard will not only arrest the fall, preventing you from hitting the next lower level, they will reduce the forces of impact on your body.
